Update: 49ers Agree to Terms With Cornerback in Free Agency

San Francisco is set to add another player to their roster as 49ers agree to terms with a cornerback in free agency. The Niners needed to add depth to their secondary due to a history of injuries in that position, as well as losing players in free agency. The team has agreed to terms with cornerback Isaiah Oliver, who was formerly with the Atlanta Falcons. Here is information on the signing, and how Oliver can help.

49ers Agree to Terms with Isaiah Oliver

According to Mike Garafolo on Twitter, the 49ers agreed to terms with Oliver, who was a 2018 second-round pick in 2018. Oliver spent five years with the Falcons and is now headed to play with the 49ers. Matt Barrows has reported that it is a two year deal; however there is still no price.

It is highly likely that Oliver will fill in for the vacant slot corner position. This was previously held by Jimmie Ward, who is headed to the Houston Texans. Either way, with the loss of Emmanuel Moseley, who is headed to the Tenessee Titans, a corner that can play on the outside or slot is key for San Francisco.

According to David Lombardi on Twitter , Oliver played in the slot last season. In 2022, Ikuver allowed a 72.4 rating. As of now, it seems as though Oliver will be taking on that position. This news comes after the update that the 49ers agreed to terms with Clelin Ferrell, which you can read about here. This means that the team is set to add two key players for the positions they need to fill.
