UNT Health Science Center gets all clear after lockdown

Update at 2:30 p.m.: UNT Health Science Center officials gave the all clear the campus has resumed normal activities. 

The lockdown was lifted after police identified a person of interest and found no active threat to the campus, Dallas Morning News reporter Jamie Landers said in a tweet


Original story: The University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth went under lockdown on Wednesday, November 16. 

In an alert posted to social media, the educational medical center said people should seek shelter in a secure location because of a “potential for violence,” noting the lockdown is affecting buildings near the Interdisciplinary Research & Education Building. The alert was posted to Twitter twice, once at 12:38 p.m. and again at 12:56 p.m. 

No other updates have been provided. MySA reached out to the UNT Health Science Center and the Fort Worth Police Department for a statement.
