United top post-World Cup Premier League table

At the other end of the scale, Bournemouth and our next opponents, Leeds United, are the only two top-flight clubs without a victory since the World Cup.

The Cherries have drawn one and lost five of their last six, while Leeds – who relieved manager Jesse Marsch of his duties on Monday afternoon – have struggled to convert draws into wins.

The good form also extends to the players, with Marcus Rashford’s tally of 11 post-Qatar goals more than any other player in Europe’s top-five leagues, while Bruno Fernandes has recorded a goal involvement in six straight league games – a personal best for him during his time with the club.

Of course, United have also experienced success away from the league in the seven weeks since domestic football reconvened.
