We’ve got a newcomer at the top of this week’s UK charts, with Nintendo Switch Sports storming to the number one spot. With the bank holiday weekend in the UK, it’s perhaps no surprise that families want to get together and play some virtual ball — we know what the English weather can be like, right?

That means, after a few weeks at the top of the video game box office, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga has slipped down to second place. The Switch version is still selling the most copies, making up 31% of the game’s sales.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land is back in the top ranks too, sitting comfortably in ninth. As is PlayStation’s Gran Turismo 7, which speeds back up to third.

There’s one fun thing that happened with the top 40 this week — Sonic Forces is back in there at 38, and 62% of sales were for the Switch release. Sonic Mania Plus also saw a little boost in sales too, going from 23 to 19, with the Switch version once again reigning supreme. Perhaps all of that Sonic chatter from a few weeks ago got people out buying Sonic games?
