Authorities are looking for a Texas woman who shot and killed cyclist and Vermont native Anna Wilson, 25, in Austin on May 11 as she was preparing for a race. Austin police and the U.S. Marshals Lone Star Fugitive Task Force issued a warrant for the arrest of Kaitlin Marie Armstrong, 35, who is suspected of killing Wilson, according to a news release.

Austin police responded to reports of a shooting on May 11 in the 1700 block of Maple Avenue, where they found Wilson bleeding and unconscious with multiple gunshot wounds. Police performed CPR on Wilson, but she was eventually pronounced dead at the scene. Armstrong allegedly knew Wilson through an ongoing relationship with another cyclist, the Austin-American Statesman reported

Armstrong split with her boyfriend, professional cyclist Colin Strickland, in October. Strickland became involved with Wilson but then got back together with Armstrong, according to an affidavit pulled by the Statesman. He told the Statesman that his relationship with Wilson was “platonic and professional” after a fling, and that he was cooperating with authorities.

Police say Armstrong found out about Wilson and Strickland in January and was told by a tipster that she was furious and “shaking in anger.” She deleted all of her social media and Strickland hasn’t seen Armstrong since May 13, the Statesman reports.

Anyone with information on Armstrong’s whereabouts can contact the U.S. Marshals Service Communications Center at 1-800-336-0102 or submit a tip using the USMS Tips app.
