Trevor Lawrence not yet named Jaguars’ starting QB?
Jacksonville Jaguars rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence, the first-overall pick of the 2021 NFL Draft, began May as the betting favorite to earn Offensive Rookie of the Year honors and remains atop the list of candidates offered by BetOnline.ag for the award as of the start of the second half of June. Every observer expects Lawrence will be Jacksonville’s QB1 barring an unexpected occurrence or a catastrophe between the end of spring and Week 1 of the upcoming regular season.
Per Michael DiRocco of ESPN, though, Jaguars passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach Brian Schottenheimer wasn’t giving anything away about the club’s plans for the starting gig when speaking with reporters Wednesday.
