The 2022 NFL trade deadline has passed, as teams had until 4 p.m. ET on Nov. 1 to make deals. We tracked every trade since training camp, with analysis and highlights from our team of NFL reporters. The latest info is at the top, and a handy table shows every deal.
There were a record 10 trades made on Nov. 1, the most ever for an NFL deadline day. Bradley Chubb ended up in Miami, Calvin Ridley was dealt to Jacksonville, Chase Claypool went to Chicago and Nyheim Hines was traded to Buffalo. In the days leading up to the deadline, Christian McCaffrey (San Francisco), Roquan Smith (Baltimore) and Robert Quinn (Philadelphia) headlined numerous additional deals.

Tuesday, Nov. 1
Sources tell ESPN’s Ed Werder that the Dallas Cowboys and Houston Texans discussed a potential trade involving wide receiver Brandin Cooks until the final minutes before the trade deadline expired. Draft pick compensation could not be resolved in time.
The Arizona Cardinals are signing free agent LB Kamu Grugier-Hill, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Grugier-Hill led the Houston Texans with 108 tackles and 13 tackles for loss in 2021, and he had started all six games for them in 2022 prior to requesting his release last week.
The Buffalo Bills added secondary depth at the deadline, trading for Atlanta Falcons safety Dean Marlowe in exchange for a 2023 seventh-round pick, per ESPN’s Alaina Getzenberg.
The Kansas City Chiefs have traded cornerback Rashad Fenton to the Atlanta Falcons in exchange for a conditional seventh-round pick, per ESPN’s Field Yates.
The trading deadline has passed, and New York Jets receivers Elijah Moore and Denzel Mims — both of whom requested trades at different times — remain on the roster, per ESPN’s Rich Cimini.
The Houston Texans did not trade wide receiver Brandin Cooks before the Tuesday deadline, according to ESPN’s DJ Bien-Aime.

Running back Kareem Hunt has remained on the Cleveland Browns‘ roster past the deadline and will not be traded, per ESPN’s Jake Trotter.
The Buffalo Bills added the pass-catching running back that the team has been searching for by trading for Indianapolis Colts running back Nyheim Hines on Tuesday in exchange for running back Zack Moss and a conditional 2023 sixth-round pick that can become a fifth-round pick.
The Pittsburgh Steelers have completed a trade with the Washington Commanders for cornerback William Jackson III before Tuesday’s deadline, sources told ESPN.
The Commanders will receive a sixth-round draft pick in 2024 for Jackson and a seventh-rounder in 2025, sources tell ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Jackson, who signed a three-year deal worth up to $40.5 million with $21 million guaranteed in 2021, was expected to be released by the deadline if Washington didn’t find a trade partner.
The New York Jets are trading defensive end Jacob Martin and a 2024 fifth-round pick to the Denver Broncos in exchange for a 2024 fourth-rounder, a source confirms to ESPN’s Rich Cimini.
The Atlanta Falcons are finalizing a deal that will send suspended wide receiver Calvin Ridley to the Jacksonville Jaguars, sources confirmed to ESPN on Tuesday. In exchange, the Falcons would receive a 2023 fifth-round pick and a conditional fourth-round selection. The conditional fourth-rounder becomes a third-rounder if Ridley reaches certain incentives or becomes a second-rounder if the Jaguars sign Ridley to a contract extension.
Ridley is suspended for at least the 2022 season after gambling on games last year.
The Miami Dolphins replaced Chase Edmonds by acquiring running back Jeff Wilson Jr. from the San Francisco 49ers, a source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Wilson has rushed 92 times for 468 yards and two touchdowns this season. The Niners will get a 2023 fifth-round pick in return.
The Denver Broncos are trading outside linebacker Bradley Chubb to the Miami Dolphins for a package that includes the 2023 first-round pick that Miami acquired from the San Francisco 49ers last year, sources told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
The Dolphins are also sending running back Chase Edmonds and a 2024 fourth-round pick to Denver for a 2025 fifth-round selection along with Chubb, a source told Schefter.

The Chicago Bears are acquiring wide receiver Chase Claypool in a trade with the Pittsburgh Steelers, a source told ESPN’s Field Yates on Tuesday. The Bears are getting a second-round pick in return, a source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
The 2020 second-round pick has caught 32 passes for 311 yards and a touchdown for the Steelers this season.
ESPN senior NFL reporter Jeremy Fowler says the New England Patriots do not plan to move offensive tackle Isaiah Wynn, a first-round pick in 2018. Wynn has played both left and right tackle in his career, but he has spent most of the 2022 season at right tackle, starting six games and playing 330 snaps.
ESPN senior NFL reporter Jeremy Fowler says the Houston Texans have talked with wide receiver Brandin Cooks about exploring a trade that makes sense for both the player and the team, per sources. Both know something could happen, but it would take at least a reasonable offer to get a deal to the finish line.
Adds ESPN senior NFL reporter Dan Graziano: The Texans have been speaking with teams about trade for Cooks, but his $18 million guaranteed 2023 salary is a major impediment. As of now, Houston would have to pick up a significant chunk of that to get a deal done.
Texans coach Lovie Smith said Tuesday afternoon that Cooks was excused from practice for personal reasons.
The Detroit Lions are trading tight end T.J. Hockenson to the division-rival Minnesota Vikings, sources told ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The Lions will receive a 2023 second-round pick and a 2024 third-round pick, while the Vikings will get a 2023 fourth-round selection and a conditional 2024 fourth-round pick along with Hockenson, a source told Schefter.
Hockenson, 25, has 26 receptions for 395 yards and three touchdowns in seven games this season. He fills an immediate need for the Vikings, as tight end Irv Smith Jr. suffered a high ankle sprain in Sunday’s victory over the Arizona Cardinals and is expected to miss multiple weeks, a source told Schefter.
The Washington Commanders are expected to release cornerback William Jackson III if they cannot find a trade partner by the deadline, per ESPN senior NFL reporter Jeremy Fowler. Teams have called on Jackson, but no trade has materialized. His back injury is also believed to be a factor.
ESPN senior NFL reporter Dan Graziano adds that any player released post-trade deadline is subject to waivers. A team claiming Jackson would assume the remainder of his $5 million guaranteed 2022 salary, plus his non-guaranteed $12 million for next year — though he would have the right to void the 2023 year and become a free agent.
From ESPN senior NFL reporter Jeremy Fowler: Talked to multiple people around league who believe the Los Angeles Rams indeed offered the Panthers two first-round picks in talks for Carolina Panthers edge rusher Brian Burns. The Panthers are holding onto Burns because he’s a top-10 pass-rusher and they want to keep their young core. But the deadline’s not over.
From ESPN Cowboys reporter Todd Archer: Speaking on 105.3 The Fan, Cowboys team owner Jerry Jones said things could get “feverish,” as the trade deadline approaches. “We got some things we’re entertaining,” Jones said.
Jones acknowledged there is a window of opportunity for the Cowboys, but “it never works for you if it doesn’t come to you,” he said. “This is an area where aggressiveness, trying to go after [it], that doesn’t work … but we’ve got some things coming our way.”
From ESPN Jets reporter Rich Cimini: General manager Joe Douglas is working the phones before the deadline.
“Joe will always take phone calls, I know that,” Robert Saleh said. “But as far as activity, I guess it depends on what the other person is saying.”
The Jets could add players (think offensive tackle), but they could part with players as well. WR Elijah Moore won’t be traded, Saleh said. Others to watch: CB Bryce Hall, WR Denzel Mims, DE Jacob Martin and QB Joe Flacco.
Teams have until 4 p.m. ET to make deals. There were three trades made on deadline day last year, while there were two in 2020, two in 2019 and five in 2018. Overall, there have been 36 trades within a week of the deadline over the past five seasons, after there were 11 such trades made from 2012 to ’16, according to ESPN Stats & Info.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, teams have contacted the Colts to inquire about trading for multifaceted running back Nyheim Hines. Hines, a fifth-year veteran, has 25 receptions for 188 yards this season for the Colts, along with 36 rushing yards and a 10.1-yard punt return average.
The Baltimore Ravens traded for Chicago Bears linebacker Roquan Smith on Monday, a team source confirmed, filling a major weakness in the middle of their defense.
A source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter that the Ravens are sending the Bears a 2023 second-round pick, a 2023 fifth-round pick and linebacker A.J. Klein to acquire Smith, the NFL’s leading tackler.
The Ravens have long been looking to upgrade at inside linebacker, where Josh Bynes has struggled and Patrick Queen has fallen short of first-round expectations. As part of the agreement between Chicago and Baltimore, the Bears will pay Smith $4.833 million of his remaining salary this season, while the Ravens will pay him $575,000, per Schefter.
The New York Jets have no interest in trading for Denver Broncos edge rusher Bradley Chubb, per Jets reporter Rich Cimini.
Sunday, Oct. 30
The Houston Texans are open to trading Brandin Cooks and are listening to inquiries on the veteran wide receiver, sources told ESPN.
Potential destinations for Cooks could include the New York Giants, Los Angeles Rams and Minnesota Vikings, according to sources.
Friday, Oct. 28
The San Francisco 49ers have received calls on running back Jeff Wilson and are willing to listen to potential offers, sources told ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler on Friday.
Wilson ranks 11th in the NFL in rushing with 454 yards, but San Francisco has a crowded backfield with the arrival of Christian McCaffrey and Elijah Mitchell now close to returning from injury.
Thursday, Oct. 27
The Kansas City Chiefs traded a third-round pick and a sixth-round pick — both in 2023 — to the New York Giants for wide receiver Kadarius Toney. Toney was the Giants’ No. 20 overall pick in the 2021 draft but has only three targets this season.
From senior NFL reporter Jeremy Fowler: The Robert Quinn trade brings pass-rusher into focus entering the deadline. Teams are assuming the Panthers keep Brian Burns but are watching the Bradley Chubb situation in Denver closely. Another name that has garnered interest from teams: Jacksonville’s Josh Allen.
The trade deadline is less than a week away, and some teams that likely anticipated moving on from players are instead in the market to add them. Bill Barnwell writes about the Giants, Jets, Seahawks and Vikings and what they could do over the next week.
These teams might rightfully see themselves as aggressive at the deadline, either to shore up a hole caused by injury or improve on a weakness that the league’s better rosters will be capable of exploiting. What might have been a developmental or rebuilding year is now a competing year, and that’s going to fuel moves that might not have made sense before the season.
Wednesday, Oct. 26
The Philadelphia Eagles bolstered their pass rush on Wednesday, acquiring defensive end Robert Quinn from the Chicago Bears, a source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The Eagles are sending a fourth-round pick to Chicago in the trade.
A 12-year pro and three-time Pro Bowl selection, Quinn has 102 career sacks, including 18.5 last season for the Bears.
Tuesday, Oct. 25
Looking to shore up their run defense, the Dallas Cowboys have acquired defensive tackle Johnathan Hankins and a 2024 seventh-round pick from the Las Vegas Raiders for a 2023 sixth-round pick, according to multiple sources.
Monday, Oct. 24
The New York Jets have agreed to acquire running back James Robinson from the Jacksonville Jaguars, sources told ESPN on Monday, confirming a report by NFL Network. The Jets are sending a sixth-round pick to Jacksonville that could become a fifth-rounder as part of the trade, a source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
The Jets’ deal for Robinson comes on the heels of rookie running back Breece Hall, a leading candidate for NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, suffering a season-ending ACL tear and meniscus injury in Sunday’s game.

The Denver Broncos have received multiple trade inquiries about star defensive end Bradley Chubb and wide receivers Jerry Jeudy and KJ Hamler, league sources told ESPN.
Although the Broncos would like to retain all three players, they would have to ponder any serious trade offer for multiple reasons. Chubb has 5.5 sacks in Denver’s first six games, but he is in the final year of his contract and prices for defensive ends will continue to skyrocket. Jeudy, a first-round draft selection in 2020, hasn’t clicked so far in Denver’s new offense, and the same is true of Hamler, the Broncos’ second-round pick in 2020. The Broncos also are short of draft picks after trading two first-round picks and two second-round picks to the Seattle Seahawks earlier this year for quarterback Russell Wilson.

The Carolina Panthers acquired four draft picks for Christian McCaffrey and two other picks for Robbie Anderson, but they rejected the most lucrative offer they received for pass-rushing standout Brian Burns.
One team offered two first-round picks to the Panthers for Burns, league sources told ESPN. However, the Panthers told that team they are not trading Burns, who is in the middle of his fourth NFL season on a deal that pays him $2.34 million in base salary this year.

New York Jets wide receiver Elijah Moore, frustrated by his lack of involvement in the offense, requested a trade on Oct. 20, a person familiar with the situation confirmed to ESPN. However, the Jets are not considering a trade, a source said.

The San Francisco 49ers traded second-, third- and fourth-round picks in 2023 and a fifth-round pick in 2024 to the Carolina Panthers for star running back Christian McCaffrey.
The deal gives San Francisco the offensive playmaker it needs to compete for a Super Bowl. It also gives McCaffrey a chance to be on a winning team for the first time since his rookie season in 2017 — when Carolina went 11-5 — and return to the Bay Area, where he starred in college at Stanford.

It appears that Los Angeles Rams running back Cam Akers might have played his last game for the team after coach Sean McVay said the Rams have explored the option of finding Akers “a fresh new start with another team.” Since Oct. 14, the Rams have listed Akers on the team’s injury report as out due to personal reasons.

Less than 24 hours after being removed from a game by Carolina Panthers interim coach Steve Wilks, Robbie Anderson was traded to the Arizona Cardinals. He will rejoin Cardinals wide receivers coach Shawn Jefferson, who previously coached Anderson with the Jets, as Arizona looks to restore its offense after Marquise “Hollywood” Brown suffered a foot injury that will sideline him indefinitely.

The Cleveland Browns traded their 2024 sixth-round draft pick to the Atlanta Falcons in exchange for linebacker Deion Jones and the Falcons’ 2024 seventh-round selection. Jones, who made the Pro Bowl in 2017, should help bolster Cleveland’s linebacking corps, which has struggled since losing Anthony Walker to a season-ending quad tear in Week 2.

The New England Patriots have traded offensive tackle Justin Herron to the Las Vegas Raiders. The Patriots will receive a 2024 sixth-round pick, while the Raiders will receive Herron and a 2024 seventh-round pick. Herron will be reuniting with his former offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, now the head coach of the Raiders. Herron started 11 games during the 2020 and 2021 seasons (including playoffs) under McDaniels.

The Philadelphia Eagles are sending receiver Jalen Reagor to the Minnesota Vikings in exchange for a 2023 seventh-round pick and a 2024 conditional fourth-round pick (that would change to a fifth-round pick if certain statistical marks are not met), sources told ESPN.

The Minnesota Vikings sent guard Jesse Davis to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Davis was signed by the Vikings in March after being released by the Miami Dolphins, with whom Davis played for five seasons.

The Houston Texans traded defensive tackle Ross Blacklock and a 2023 seventh-round pick to the Minnesota Vikings for a 2023 sixth-round pick. Blacklock was a second-round pick by Houston in 2020 and has started only three games in his two seasons in the league. He had 22 tackles and two sacks in 2021.

The Las Vegas Raiders are sending cornerback Trayvon Mullen Jr., a second-round pick in 2019, to the Arizona Cardinals for a conditional 2023 draft pick. The pick is currently a seventh-rounder but could move up to a sixth. Mullen played in only five games last season because of injury after playing all 32 (starting 26) in his first two seasons.

The Denver Broncos are sending outside linebacker Malik Reed to the Pittsburgh Steelers for late-pick draft compensation, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Reed, who is entering his fourth season, had 43 tackles and five sacks for Denver in 2021.

The Philadelphia Eagles acquired defensive back C.J. Gardner-Johnson from the New Orleans Saints, a source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The Eagles received Gardner-Johnson and the Saints’ 2025 seventh-round draft pick in exchange for a 2023 fifth-round draft pick and the worse of their two sixth-round draft picks in 2024, the source told Schefter. Gardner-Johnson, who has experience both as a slot corner and safety, is expected to play safety in Philadelphia.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers traded linebacker Grant Stuard and a 2023 seventh-round pick to the Indianapolis Colts for a 2023 sixth-rounder. Stuard, a seventh-round pick in last year’s draft, had 15 tackles as a rookie.

The Tennessee Titans acquired offensive lineman Dennis Daley and a seventh-round draft pick in 2024 from the Carolina Panthers in exchange for a fifth-round pick in 2024. Daley was a sixth-round pick by the Panthers in 2019 and played 15 games a year ago, starting nine.

The Carolina Panthers acquired another target for quarterback Baker Mayfield on Monday, trading with the Jacksonville Jaguars for wide receiver Laviska Shenault Jr., the team announced. The Panthers will send undisclosed draft compensation to Jacksonville.

The Philadelphia Eagles sent defensive back Ugo Amadi to the Tennessee Titans in a trade involving 2024 late-round picks, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Amadi was in Philadelphia for just nine days, as he was traded to the Eagles from the Seattle Seahawks on Aug. 15.

The Green Bay Packers traded offensive lineman Cole Van Lanen, who is from Green Bay, to the Jacksonville Jaguars for a seventh-round draft pick in 2023. Van Lanen was a sixth-round draft pick by the Packers in 2021.

The Minnesota Vikings acquired quarterback Nick Mullens from the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday for a conditional 2024 draft pick, giving the team an additional option behind starter Kirk Cousins amid an uneven summer for his incumbent backups. Mullens will get a chance to unseat Sean Mannion and Kellen Mond, who have been competing for the job.

The Buffalo Bills have traded guard Cody Ford to the Arizona Cardinals in exchange for a 2023 fifth-round draft pick. Ford was drafted by the Bills in the second round of the 2019 NFL draft out of Oklahoma to be the team’s right tackle of the future opposite left tackle Dion Dawkins. Things, however, did not go according to plan.

The Tennessee Titans acquired safety Tyree Gillespie from the Las Vegas Raiders for a conditional seventh-round draft choice in 2024. Gillespie, a fourth-round pick by the Raiders in 2021, played mostly on special teams as a rookie. He had eight combined tackles in 11 games played in 2021.

The Seahawks acquired wide receiver/tight end J.J. Arcega-Whiteside in a trade with the Eagles in exchange for defensive back Ugo Amadi. The Seahawks were planning to cut Amadi as part of their first wave of roster reductions, according to a source, but instead found a trade partner and a reinforcement at a position that’s been thinned by injuries. Whiteside, a second-round pick out of Stanford in 2019, has a combined 16 catches for 290 yards and a touchdown in 40 games over three seasons.

The Dolphins initially traded Adam Shaheen, who is entering his sixth NFL season, to the Texans along with a 2023 seventh-round draft pick in exchange from a 2023 sixth-rounder from Houston, but Shaheen failed his physical because of a preexisting knee injury and was sent back to Miami. The Dolphins proceeded to place Shaheen on IR.
