Tottenham’s Harry Kane closing in on second Alan Shearer record after goal vs Leicester
Harry Kane is close to matching a record currently held by former Blackburn and Newcastle strike Alan Shearer, it has been revealed.
Kane’s Tottenham are currently locked in Premier League action with Leicester City in north London.
Tottenham headed into the game sitting two points behind 4th-place Arsenal with five games left to play.
As a result, Spurs needed a win to ensure they are able to keep pace with the Gunners, who are in action later on Sunday.
And, at the time of writing, Antonio Conte’s side are on course to pick up a valuable three points against a much-changed Leicester City.
The Foxes started the tie the brighter of the two sides, but Tottenham took the lead 22 minutes in thanks to a Harry Kane effort, which was, to the surprise of nobody, set up by Heung-min Son.

Kane closing in on Shearer
Following the goal, it has been revealed that Kane is close to matching a record currently held by Alan Shearer.
Kane is already chasing the former Newcastle striker for the most goals in the history of the Premier League.
