Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski among Buccaneers veterans working out at team facility Friday

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers don’t have organized team activities on Friday. However, that’s not stopping some of the veterans from working out at the team facility for the first time.

According to Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times, Tom Brady, Mike Evans, Antonio Brown, Rob Gronkowski and Cameron Brate were among about 10 veterans participating in a Friday workout.

Brady, Evans, Brown, Gronkowski and Brate have been working out away from the team facility and did not attend OTAs this week.

Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians offered players who aren’t participating in OTAs the use of the team facility without coaches in attendance, according to ESPN’s Jenna Laine. He provided the facility to players “for their own protection” because injuries sustained away from the facility can void certain guarantees in contracts.

Brady and the other veterans appear to be taking workouts seriously despite not participating in OTAs as the Buccaneers look to repeat as Super Bowl champions this season.
