Tom Brady on retirement talk: ‘I think for me, it’s literally day to day’

Legendary quarterback Tom Brady finally broke his silence following reports this past weekend that the seven-time Super Bowl champion was set to retire after 22 seasons in the NFL.

Brady took to his weekly podcast, “Let’s Go,” on Monday to talk about a potential retirement after his Tampa Bay Buccaneers lost to the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC divisional playoffs.

In the process, Brady stopped well short of announcing his retirement. He also talked about those who reported this past Saturday that the quarterback had decided to retire.

“We’re in such an era of information and people want to be in front of the news often,” Brady said. “I totally understand that. I understand that’s the environment we’re in. I think for me, it’s just literally day to day with me.”

That’s definitely one way to push back against the idea that he is set to retire.

In terms of a potential retirement, Brady also noted that he’s still going through the process.

“I’m still going through the process,” the future Hall of Famer said. “When the time is right, I’ll be ready to make a decision.”
