Tom Brady jokes with President Joe Biden about election, being ‘Sleepy Tom’
As noted by the Associated Press (h/t ESPN), quarterback Tom Brady and other members of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers visited the White House Tuesday to be honored as Super Bowl champions. It was Brady’s first trip to the White House since 2005, and he prepared jokes about both the 2020 election and a moment from the past season he’d probably prefer to forget.
“We found our rhythm, we got on a roll,” the seven-time champion remarked during the outdoor ceremony. “Not a lot of people think that we could have won. In fact, I think about 40% of the people still don’t think we won.”
President Joe Biden quickly responded: “I understand that.”
