Tom Brady Followed Through On His Shocking Promise

It is no surprise that Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady has had a long career.

After all, he took care of himself by maintaining a strict diet and going into regular workouts.

But no one imagined that he would continue to play until his mid-40s.

Typically, that’s an age wherein most football players retire and enjoy their second careers.

However, Brady is still playing at a high level and it seems like Father Time gave up on him.

Now that he is turning a year older, he has fulfilled a goal that he has been declaring for a long time.

Pro Football Focus’ Ari Meirov tweeted, “#Bucs’ QB Tom Brady turns 45 years old today. He said years ago he wanted to play until age 45. He wasn’t joking.”

Initially, the goal of playing until he turns 45 was a part of the marketing ploy for his TB12 fitness centers.

Now that it has come true, what a way to promote his brand.

The scary part is that he isn’t slowing down and could still play beyond 45.

Last season, he had 5,316 yards and 43 touchdowns to finish second in the MVP race behind Aaron Rodgers.

But with his top targets returning and the addition of Julio Jones, Brady will be one of the top quarterbacks in the league.

The Next Goal For Brady

It isn’t certain if Brady will continue to play football beyond 2022, especially because he is in the final year of his contract with the Buccaneers.

But if he has another strong season, he could continue playing until he reaches George Blanda‘s feat.

The quarterback who suited up for the Chicago Bears, Baltimore Colts, Houston Oilers, and Oakland Raiders played until he was 48 years old.

Brady is just three seasons away and it would be foolish to think that he is not thinking about chasing Blanda.

If the Buccaneers win Super Bowl LVII, Brady might likely return for another run.
