Tom Brady cracks joke about Super Bowl doubters at White House

The Bucs visited the White House to celebrate their Super Bowl win on Tuesday, and their quarterback couldn’t resist the urge to sneak in a zinger.

It should come as no surprise that Tom Brady spoke at the podium, as he’s one of the most famous athletes in the world. He’s in rare territory in that he actually is top of mind for anyone in a locker room, including head coaches. Brady is, and has always has been, his team’s unquestioned leader, and so he’s always given a crack at the microphone.

And even though he may have supported Donald Trump, he was still respectful of President Joe Biden on Tuesday. He even managed to work in a zinger about how some conservatives don’t believe Biden actually won the presidential election, which he tied into those doubting the Bucs last season.

“Not a lot of people think we could win,” Brady said. “In fact, 40 percent still don’t think we won. You understand that, Mr. President?”

He continued:

“We had a game in Chicago where I forgot what down it was. I lost track of one down in 21 years of playing, and they started calling me “Sleepy Tom.” Why would they do that to me?”
