TikTok captures squirrel running through New Braunfels Public Library

Imagine having a nice, calm day strolling through the public library searching for a new book to sink your teeth into. Suddenly, a small brown blur scurries past your feet. One Texas Hill Country library had a different kind of guest pass through its doors and it’s safe to say he didn’t have a library card.

The City of New Braunfels TikTok account shared a wild video of when a squirrel decided to take a stroll through the New Braunfels Public Library.

@cityofnewbraunfels Even squirrels like libraries! 🐿️ #library #chaos #chaoticenergy #squirrel #newbraunfels #cityofnewbraunfels #animalcontrol ♬ “Can-Can (Infernal Galop)” from Orphée aux enfers overture(1133429) – LEOPARD

In the nearly 30 second video, the squirrel can be seen entering through the front doors going toward the computer area. Then the next shot shows the squirrel making a mad dash past two women and not far behind a group of people trying to capture it.

A man does a double take wondering if he saw what he thought he saw. Then the fluffy critter runs into a different section of the library where a man and a little girl collided. The girl popped back up and the man kept going.

The group finally got the squirrel and people on TikTok loved every second of the video.

Leila Mckinnis said, “This is gold.” Then the City of New Braunfels account responded, “Free my girl Sandy Cheeks, she did nothin wrong.”

The video already has 39,000 views and over 7,000 likes as of Thursday, March 16. Kevin Christy875 said, “Well. That was nuts.”
