‘This is going to be big’: San Antonio Zoo teases new exhibit coming this spring

The San Antonio Zoo will debut a new exhibit this spring that it says promises to be something San Antonio has never seen before. But the zoo says its not ready to share what it is.

This week, the zoo posted a teaser on its social media accounts of the new exhibit with images of dinosaurs. Zoo spokeswoman Hope Roth said that is only the beginning.

“This year, during the months of February through early May, the zoo will be hosting a very exciting new spring event — we can’t yet tell you all the details, just that this is going to be big,” Roth said.

She said the dinosaur exhibit is just phase one of what the zoo plans to roll out. While Roth couldn’t divulge more information, she did hint that the exhibits are one of a kind.

The zoo is teasing the new exhibits all month on its social media accounts in hopes of getting people excited to return in 2021. The zoo is running a Black Friday promotion of 30 percent off the normal price of an annual pass.

“We are hoping guests will buy a pass now so they can use it for fun events like Zoo Lights and then come back in 2021 to continue to use their pass at all of our cool new things,” Roth said.

Normally, the zoo rolls out new exhibits during the summer. In 2021, the new exhibits will run from February to May, though the official dates have not been set.
