These 7 49ers players landed in PFF’s top 10 for their positions

Seven San Francisco 49ers players landed in the top 10 for their position groups within Pro Football Focus’ recent rankings. The two highest-ranked players were tackle Trent Williams and linebacker Fred Warner, the top-ranked players for their respective positions. Neither was a huge surprise as they are widely considered the best tackle and linebacker in the NFL.

What may have been a surprise is the reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year, Nick Bosa, not being one of the top two edge rushers. He came in at No. 3 behind Myles Garrett of the Cleveland Browns and Micah Parsons of the Dallas Cowboys.

George Kittle also earned third-place honors for his position group, tight ends. He came in behind Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs and Mark Andrews of the Baltimore Ravens. Christian McCaffrey was the third-ranked running back on their list.

In total, seven 49ers players were ranked somewhere within the top 10 of their respective positions. The others are wide receiver Deebo Samuel and linebacker Dre Greenlaw. That is some significant representation by one team, prompting Pro Football Focus to ask if San Francisco owns the best roster in the NFL.
