The two reasons that Tottenham could be forced to keep Kane this summer
Harry Kane’s future still up in the air
With just 2 weeks to go in the transfer window, the biggest potential move of the summer remains just that, potential. At present, Kane remains a Tottenham player against his will, with Manchester City keen on signing England’s captain, but Daniel Levy not willing to sell for anything below 150 million pounds.

If he were to leave, however, Tottenham would need a new forward, something which is becoming increasingly difficult.
Fiorentina name price for Vlahovic
One of the names tipped to replace Harry Kane in north London has been Fiorentina’s Dusan Vlahovic, who is also subject of interest from Atletico Madrid and Manchester City.
Fiorentina president Commisso about Vlahovic and Atléti, Spurs and Man City rumours: “I don’t know what’s gonna happen but I’m planning to keep Vlahovic this summer, I want him to stay. But if we receive a bid for €100m, I’ll think about it”, told to Ansa. 🇷🇸 #THFC #MCFC #Atleti

Speaking to Ansa, the President of La Viola had his say on the matter, revealing that:
“I don’t know what’s gonna happen but I’m planning to keep Vlahovic this summer, I want him to stay.”
However, he did also suggest that a big enough bid could be enough to force his hand, saying:
“But if we receive a bid for €100m, I’ll think about it”
100 million euros (85 million pounds) could well prove to be beyond Tottenham’s financial capabilites, even with any money recouped from Kane. So far, the club have committed to spending 25 million pounds on Bryan Gil, with 42.5 million expected to be shelled out on Christian Romero next summer too.
Now had the below confirmed. It is indeed a loan with option to buy Cristian Romero for £42.5m and five-year contract agreed with player for after initial loan. Similar to Lo Celso. Matches Atalanta’s deal for Demiral in that both clubs don’t have to pay until later. Clever deal. https://t.co/Hi05MEcxEq

They are also clearly looking to strengthen elsewhere, with central defence and central midfield both being looked at.
Martinez to sign a new contract with Inter Milan
Spurs have been dealt a further blow in their hunt for a potential Harry Kane replacement. One of those earmarked was Inter Milan forward Lautaro Martinez, who was also interesting Atletico Madrid and north London rivals Arsenal.
Lautaro Martinez agent had a meeting with Inter today in Milano. The agreeement to extend his contract is now getting closer – final details to be completed in the next weeks. 🔵🇦🇷 @SkySport #Inter

However, as per transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Argentine is set to remain at Inter this summer, and will sign a new contract despite the interest from other clubs.
Both pieces of news will come as huge blows to Spurs if they were looking to replace their talisman, and will surely make them think twice before selling even at 150 million pounds.
Will Kane still be in white come the 1st September?
