The Texans Continue To Hold An Important Mark For 2023

Unless they catch fire and start winning games, the Texans are a near-lock for this number-one overall pick.

With a record of 1-11-1, the Texans are ahead of the Denver Broncos by two games in the race for the worst NFL record.

The Texans have two first-round picks in 2023, as they also hold the Cleveland Browns’ pick.

The Browns’ pick is currently projected to be the 12th overall pick.

By potentially having two of the first 15 picks in next year’s draft, the Texans have a fantastic opportunity to build their team for future success.

The Texans’ Record With Draft Picks

In the last ten seasons, the Texans have had eight first-round draft picks.

These picks have turned into DeAndre Hopkins, Jadeveon Clowney, Kevin Johnson, Will Fuller, Deshaun Watson, Tytus Howard, Derek Stingley Jr., and Kenyon Green.

Because Stingley and Green are rookies, the jury is still out on them.

However, for the other six players, there is a large enough sample size to know that, as a whole, the Texans have proven to make great decisions in the first round, at least in the last ten years.

Watson, when on the field, has been one of the NFL’s best quarterbacks.

Clowney has been one of the best defenders in the league since he was drafted, and Hopkins and Fuller have been fantastic receiving weapons when healthy.
