The Spurs have extended a qualifying offer to Keita Bates-Diop
The San Antonio Spurs have made their first official move of free agency by extending a qualifying offer to forward Keita Bates-Diop, making him a restricted free agent. There is no word on what the amount is, but it’s likely the minimum.

From here, he can either accept the offer (similar to what Jakob Poeltl did last season), the Spurs can match any offer that comes his way, or they have until August 13 to rescind the offer, which would make him an unrestricted free agent.
Bates-Diop signed with Spurs last offseason on a two-way contract. In 30 games, he averaged 2.6 points on 45% shooting and 1.6 rebounds in just over eight minutes per game. The Spurs did not extend a qualifying offer their other two-way contract player from last season, former second round pick Quinndary Weatherspoon, so he is an unrestricted free agent.
