The Spurs have agreed to a deal to bring Bryn Forbes back to San Antonio.

Bryn Forbes has agreed to a deal with the San Antonio Spurs, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Although the terms of his new contract are not yet available, Forbes opted out of his $2.4M player option with Milwaukee late last month, making him an unrestricted free agent.

This move comes amid a bustling free agency period that has resulted in the Spurs signing Doug McDermott, Zach Collins, and Jock Landale while trading DeMar DeRozan to the Bulls for Thaddeus Young, Al-Farouq Aminu, and draft compensation.

Bryn returns to the Alamo City with championship hardware as the Bucks defeated the Phoenix Suns in the 2021 NBA Finals to cap off his lone season under head coach Mike Budenholzer in Milwaukee.

The 28-year-old guard didn’t see much court time throughout the playoffs, but he made himself valuable during the regular season, draining a career-high 45.2% of his three-point attempts.

Despite going undrafted in 2016, Forbes carved out a role with the Spurs over the first four years of his career following multiple stints with their G League affiliate and Summer League teams.

The undersized marksman played 25.1 minutes per game when he last suited up for San Antonio. And given their crowded backcourt, this reunion could be a depth insurance move.
