The Spurs’ five biggest problems this season

Soobum Im-USA TODAY Sports

A close look at the largest issues that have contributed to the way San Antonio has played so far.

In episode # 50 of the Superfluous Poppycock podcast, Charlie O’Charles joins me to discuss the five biggest issues facing the Spurs so far this year. While some are foundational and aren’t likely to change soon, a couple are fixable and San Antonio could see some quick improvement depending on how they’re addressed.

Here they are, starting at the top: 1. LaMarcus Aldridge can’t play the 4 anymore which contributes to, 2. The Spurs’ power forward rotation is in serious need of help, 3. While improved over the past couple weeks, DeMar DeRozan’s defense is still league average at best, and at worst it’s just the pits, 4. Dejounte Murray and Derrick White still aren’t sharing the court, and 5. The Bryn Forbes/Marco Belinelli situation.

This episode was recorded before Monday’s win over the Grizzlies.
