The NBA has released the Spurs’ 2021-2022 regular season schedule

The NBA has officially released the 2021-2022 regular-season schedule for every team after teasing a couple of marquee matchups on Tuesday.

The San Antonio Spurs kick off their season at the AT&T Center against the Orlando Magic on October 20 at 7:30 PM CST. And the final game of their season is on the road versus the Dallas Mavericks on April 10.

As you probably noticed, the league has reverted to their traditional 82-game schedule, with the All-Star Break presumable occurring sometime during San Antonio’s nine-day gap in mid-February.

There is also a mysterious seven-game road trip spanning from December 31 to January 10. And seeing as there’s another eight-game excursion in February, this doesn’t seem like a Rodeo Road Trip replacement.

Another interesting tidbit from San Antonio’s schedule is the 14 back-to-backs they have this season. That’s two fewer than they had a year ago, but a whopping 11 before they reach the All-Star Break.

The Silver and Black have five nationally televised contests this season, which is somewhat surprising after they have missed the playoffs in each of the last years. They have four games on NBA TV and one on ESPN.

With all the unexplored lineup possibilities and a wealth of young talent across the roster, this should be an exciting season for Spurs fans, even if there are several bumps in the road along the way.

Veterans DeMar DeRozan, Patty Mills, and Rudy Gay have move to new destinations across the association. And it will be up to Dejounte Murray, Derrick White, and Keldon Johnson to lead a new generation of Spurs basketball.
