The Famicase Art Exhibition Is Back

FAMICASE

Every year, around this time, the My Famicase Exhibition is released upon the world, showcasing hundreds of fan-made designs for the Famicom cartridge. Each one has been dreamed up, designed, and submitted by (usually) an artist, along with a description of what the game would be — but the catch is that none of these games are real.

Of course, they can be. There’s even a game jam, “A Game By Its Cover“, specifically designed around turning these fictional game cases into reality. And, technically, they do exist in the real world, as the cartridges are created for the physical exhibition. But insert them into a console, and nothing will happen — they’re just very pretty shells.

Anyway, the real purpose behind the Famicase art exhibition is for us to pick our favourites, and imagine what kind of game they might be. Let’s go!

Check out the collection for yourself, and choose your favourites! Let us know what kind of game they’d be in the comments.
