Antonio nets for Jamaica

Michail Antonio’s switch of allegiance from England to Jamaica appears to be paying off, with the West Ham forward netting in their most recent clash against the USA.

Although Jamaica were out of World Cup qualifying thanks to a poor campaign to date, they managed to hold the USA to a draw, even though the Americans needed a win to ensure that they remained at the top of the group.

Antonio’s brilliant strike cancelled out the US’s early strike, and ensured that the spoils were ultimately shared between the two sides.

What David Sullivan did to ensure his availability for the weekend

Now, with the Premier League resuming, the Hammers travel to the midlands to take on a revitalised Wolves side under manager Bruno Lage, who have not lost in their last five top-flight encounters.

For David Moyes and co., Antonio is a key component of the side, with no recognised backup to Antonio in the squad, something that could be addressed in January.

As a result, owner David Sullivan has reportedly, as per Sky Sports, shelled out 100,000 pounds for Michail Antonio.

The reason? In order to charter a private jet in order to bring Antonio back from Jamaica in time to make West Ham’s training session on Thursday.

Only time will tell if it is enough to see the Hammers edge past Wolves in their next fixture, but it will certainly help them.
