Texas high school coach charged with indecency, improper relations with a student.

A new update has been released about a Texas high school football coach that reportedly inappropriately touched five female students and made sexual comments toward them. Lonnie Teagle, 39, a now-former head football coach at Katy Independent School District was charged with indecency with a child and improper relations with a student.

Teagle, the former Katy Paetow High School coach and campus athletic coordinator, is being accused of touching a young student and her best friend in a sexual manner, according to ABC 13. The two 15-year-old girls told police in September, before Teagle resigned, that he would hug them, grab their waists and butts, telling them not to tell anyone.

Court documents detailed that one of the girls said on one occasion Teagle brought her and her friend into a room and spanked them. The student came forward to school administrators in October. The day after she complained, three more female students came forward to say that Teagle touched them inappropriately on their hips and thighs, according to documents.

One of the students said Teagle told her she had a “big booty” while at a junior varsity football game, then “he pulled her from the press box to get snacks.” She said she complained about sore feet while walking, and he suggested they could massage each other’s feet, according to court records.

Teagle resigned his position with Katy ISD on October 11. Prosecutors filed the charges against Teagle on November 14. He appeared in court and was released on bond on Monday, November 21 according to court records.

Katy ISD released the following statement regarding the charges against its former head coach:

“After several weeks of interagency investigations, the District has been informed by the Harris County District Attorney’s Office that it has accepted charges on former football coach, Lonnie Teagle. The District takes all potential safety concerns seriously. When made aware of any allegation concerning a staff member, the individual is immediately removed from their assignment(s), while District personnel work swiftly with law enforcement and other agencies to conduct a thorough investigation to ensure the safety and well-being of all students.”
