Texans interested in 49ers defensive coach Cory Undlin

According to Aaron Wilson of KPRC2 in Houston, the Texans are interested in San Francisco 49ers defensive pass game specialist/secondary coach Cory Undlin for their defensive coordinator job.

On Tuesday, the Texans hired former 49ers defensive coordinator DeMeco Ryans as their new head coach.

Undlin joined head coach Kyle Shanahan’s staff in 2021. He has defensive coordinator experience, serving in the role with the Detroit Lions in 2020. Before that, he spent time in various roles with the Philadelphia Eagles, Denver Broncos, Jacksonville Jaguars, Cleveland Browns, and New England Patriots. Undlin has been coaching in the NFL since 2004.

Undlin has been a part of two Super Bowl-winning teams, first as a defensive coaching assistant with the Patriots during the 2004 season and second as a defensive backs coach with the Eagles during the 2017 season.
