Ten Hag’s message for Sancho

Sancho entered the fray on the hour mark with Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial, with the trio upsetting the resolute Forest defence. 

Rashford shared a picture of the three of them on Instagram, writing: “My brothers by my side.”

And the boss, among others, was clearly equally as happy to see our no.25 returning to the pitch, emphasising: “For me, it’s always most important that players enjoy football because that gives energy and that gives also the motivation to act and to perform and I think it was great the reception from the fans to him.

“I think also that will back him. That will give him even more push to continue in the way he’s acting. He’s just started again, so a [it’s] restart. He’s just back in Carrington for the last two weeks, and we see that smile. Hopefully he can keep that smile and he can really contribute to this team because, when he is in good form, he is really important for us.”
