Teddy Sheringham’s top team-mates

TOP THREE TEAM-MATES

1. Darren Anderton (170 games)
The pair developed a good relationship with Anderton on the same wavelength for club and country, including at the European Championship in 1996. A wide midfielder with great intelligence, he combined well with the smart Sheringham.

2. Gary Neville (149 games)
Another member of the Euro 96 side and a stalwart for England, who, of course, later became Teddy’s team-mate with the Reds. They clocked up almost 150 appearances together.

3. David Beckham (142 games)
Once more, a colleague with England and United, the two players were the goalscorers in the dramatic game with Greece at Old Trafford that took Sven-Goran Eriksson’s side to the 2002 World Cup finals.
