Suns Interested In Malcolm Brogdon, John Collins

The Phoenix Suns are looking at retooling their roster around Kevin Durant and Devin Booker. The Suns are reportedly looking into trades for Malcolm Brogdon of the Boston Celtics and John Collins of the Atlanta Hawks.

Brogdon is coming off a season where he won Sixth Man of the Year. However, Brogdon played through a torn ligament in his right arm during the Eastern Conference Finals. The Celtics have a glut of guards and could be looking to trade one to rebalance their rotation a bit. Brogdon is owed $45 million through this season and next.

Collins has been on and off the trade market for years. Phoenix and Atlanta had conversations last year, before the Suns turned to trading for Durant. Collins has $78.5 million owed to him through 2025-26. That contract and inconsistent production have proven to be a roadblock to finding a trade in the past.

Trading for a player with a salary as large as Brogdon’s or Collins’ would require Chris Paul to be traded, with a significant chunk of his $30.8 million contract for next season to be guaranteed. The Suns could deal Paul directly, or bring in a third team to act as a facilitator in the deal.
