Steve Clifford To Step Down As Head Coach Of Hornets After Season

Steve Clifford will step down as head coach of the Charlotte Hornets at the conclusion of the season. Clifford will move into a front office role with the Hornets.

Jeff Peterson and co-owners Rick Schnall and Gabe Plotkin were open to bringing Clifford back next season, but he wasn’t prepared to commit to remaining in the role.

Clifford is 337-457 over 10 seasons with the Hornets and Orlando Magic. Clifford returned to the Hornets in 2022.
