Stanford’s EJ Smith signs NIL deal with Bounty

You may remember Emmitt Smith, who many consider the greatest running back of all time, as his accomplishments include being a part of three Super Bowl winning teams with the Dallas Cowboys and an MVP winner.

Now it’s his son’s time to shine, as E.J. Smith, currently a junior running back at Stanford, has inked an NIL deal with Bounty, which plays a huge part in his connection with his father.

“I’m missing my wingman right now, my Pops,” Smith said while laughing, via The Spun. “We love eating wings during the game. We use Bounty once our fingers get dirty. We don’t have to worry about that with Bounty.”

Smith adds that he loves flats and his favorite flavors are BBQ and mild Buffalo. His father likes mustard and BBQ, but he likes his wings with Ranch.

When asked about his NIL experience, Smith senses differences, perhaps because his school may not be in the limelight as much as other schools, but he still views this as a great learning experience nonetheless.

“It’s different,” Smith said. “I would say, Stanford’s not a big NIL school, so the opportunities do come at a minimum. But at the same time, it’s a great chance to understand the industry.”

Smith continued: “Having the opportunity to do things like this just opens doors for so much in the future. Being able to see everybody I’ve been able to see this weekend has been awesome.”

While Bounty may just be a paper towel company for some, it seems to be the most fitting NIL deal Smith could possibly be getting.

“You can’t have wings without Bounty!” Smith said, via 247 Sports. “And you can’t have football without Bounty.”
