The Spurs need a win to have hope of securing a better playoff spot, but eastern conference lottery teams are their kryptonite
Welcome to the Game Thread. Veterans of the Game Thread know how we do things around here, but for all you newbies we have a few rules. Our community guidelines apply and basically say be cool, no personal attacks, don’t troll and don’t swear too much.
It’s the antepenultimate game of the regular season, and the Spurs still have plenty of work to do. The Spurs haven’t played well lately against eastern conference lottery teams, but they also put in a poor effort against a western conference playoff team on Wednesday night. Tonight they face the Washington Wizards, and they need a win to have a shot at avoiding the eighth playoff spot in the west, which would mean facing the Golden State Warriors, and a probable quick exit. The Wizards are in the middle of an organizational shakeup, and also are missing several players with injuries, which of course means that the Spurs will have a difficult time putting them away. The regular season grind is coming to a close, but every game is important, so hopefully the Silver and Black can put together a solid effort and pull out a win tonight. Go Spurs GO!
