Spurs again perform fourth quarter heroics and pull away from the Nuggets

The Spurs started out strong and closed strong to put away the Denver Nuggets Friday night for their 11th win of the season. Demar DeRozan’s super-efficient 30 points and 10 assists led the team (he’s shot 81% for the last two games, missing only 4 shots on 22 attempts). The young guys contributed to the tune of 26 points from Dejounte Murray and 19 from Keldon Johnson. Patty Mills had 17 points going 4 for 8 from downtown and keeping himself in the conversation for 6th man of the year.

No good deed goes unassisted as proven here as Murray’s hustle is immediately rewarded by DeRozan slinging the save back to Murray for the corner three:

A steal, a slam, and a screaming good time. You love to see it when the young guns turn defense into easy offense:

This fantastic follow by Jakob Poeltl off of a deflection must have gone exactly the way Rudy Gay planned it:

DeRozan nicely sidestepped Jokic for the layup. It must be those Fiesta shoes.

It’s a beautiful thing to see, this beautiful game:

Next up, the Spurs try to keep the good times rolling against the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday, at 7:30pm CST.
