Southwest High teacher arrested, accused of having sex with student

A Southwest High School teacher is awaiting indictment in a case where he is accused of an improper relationship between an educator and student, according to Bexar County court documents. A LinkedIn profile for Lane Allen Walker, 27, says he is the technical director of the school’s theater department.

A case against Walker was filed on December 19, 2022. The San Antonio Express-News reported that the school’s principal, Amanda Wagner, reported that a teacher informed her Walker had a relationship with a 17-year-old student, and the student told police she had sex with Walker multiple times at his home.

The relationship allegedly began in summer 2022 and “got physical” in August 2022. An affidavit states that the student told officers the “theater teacher took advantage of me.”

Walker surrendered his phone to police, which had some 9,500 PDF pages of messages, the Express-News reported. Walker’s wife provided law enforcement with text messages he sent her that reportedly confessed to the relationship, and after searching his home she found an iPad with explicit messages and turned it over to police.

An arrest warrant was issued on Wednesday, January 25 and Walker was arrested the next day, but was released on a $50,000 bond on Friday, January 27. Additional civil case records appear to show Walker’s wife filed for divorce on January 10.

Walker, who was with the Southwest Independent School District from August 2017 until he resigned in December 2022, was previously a summer camp counselor at Camp Eagle, according to his LinkedIn.
