Some Man United supporters send Pochettino message to board after Messi & PSG stutter vs Lens
Many of a Manchester United persuasion have made use of the Twitter-sphere on Saturday night, to send a message to the club’s board regarding the potential appointment of Mauricio Pochettino.
Wijnaldum at the death
Pochettino led his PSG outfit back into action earlier this evening.
On the back of a less than convincing 0-0 stalemate with OGC Nice last time out, the capital giants made the trip to high-flying Lens, no doubt keen for a swift return to winning ways.
Ultimately, however, upon the final whistle sounding at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis, PSG again came up short.
The latest in an ever-lengthening string of concerning displays saw the visitors forced to make do with a share of the spoils, and even that only came owing to a last-gasp goal deep into injury-time.
The lively Seko Fofana opened the evening’s scoring just beyond the hour mark, with more than a little help from a red-faced Keylor Navas:

Lens hearts were broken with 92 minutes on the clock, however, when Kylian Mbappe’s delightful delivery from the left was nodded home by substitute Georginio Wijnaldum:

Poch message
On the back of the action coming to a close in northern France this evening, it should therefore come as little surprise to hear of PSG, whose squad remains head-and-shoulders above any other club in the country, being on the receiving end of widespread criticism.
Despite the likes of Lionel Messi, Angel Di Maria and Marco Verratti featuring from the off, the Parisan giants toiled over the course of the 90 minutes, in their efforts to break down a resolute Lens backline.
Wijnaldum’s goal on Saturday marks the solitary occasion on which PSG have found the net across their last two outings, the kind of production which, understandably, has culminated in questions beginning to be asked of Mauricio Pochettino.
Regular viewers of PSG to this point in the campaign will no doubt be abundantly aware that the capital club have looked anything but impressive, with the tactical shortcomings of the man in charge on the touchline a key reason why.
And, as alluded to above, one such fanbase to have taken full notice of tonight’s struggles come in the form of the Manchester United faithful.
On the back of the full-time whistle at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis, droves of Red Devils supporters have flooded to social media, to send a crystal clear message to their club, regarding Pochettino’s talents.
This comes with the ex-Tottenham boss having of course been hotly tipped to take up the reins at Old Trafford next summer, following the conclusion of Ralf Rangnick’s interim stint in the dugout:
I’m gonna need United to stay FAR FAR away from Poch

Btw anyone who actively watches PSG and still wants Poch as our new manager your football opinion doesnt count. Literally the exact same as united under Ole just big names and vibes.
— Cryptic (@TheRealDealLAD) December 4, 2021
If people want Poch over Ten Hag, please watch PSG this season. No difference between them and Oles united. Disjointed team of stars. https://t.co/UoxDCe34dq
