Some Barcelona fans are convinced that the club are being dishonest about the absence of Yusuf Demir for Sevilla clash
Supporters of Spanish giants Barcelona have taken to social media in numbers on Monday, to call into question the club’s explanation for youngster Yusuf Demir’s impending absence versus Sevilla.
Camp Nou stint
Attacker Demir of course made the move to the Camp Nou on loan during the summer, after emerging as one of the hottest properties in European football owing to his efforts with Rapid Wien in the teen’s home country of Austria.
He has since managed a solid if unspectacular haul of nine appearances across all competitions, with Demir’s dancing feet and unrelenting forward drive having piqued the attentions of many a Barcelona fan.
Such efforts, however, do not appear to have proven sufficient in convincing those in a position of power at the club of his long-term prospects in the Catalan capital.
In turn, as per a mounting number of sources, Demir will see his season-long loan cut short during the winter window.
From here, the 18-year-old is expected to return to base with Rapid Wien, ahead of a likely Bundesliga switch before the January market slams shut.

‘Just say it…’
For their part, Xavi’s Barcelona are primed to return to action tomorrow evening, in a crunch La Liga showdown with high-flying Sevilla.
Demir, however, will play no part, owing to what has been described as ‘stomach discomfort’. This marks the same explanation as that provided for his absence versus Elche over the weekend.

Evidently, however, many of a Blaugrana persuasion are not convinced that the club are being entirely transparent when it comes to their on-loan attacker’s wellbeing.
This comes amid widespread suggestions that, in fact, Demir is likely not dealing with a stomach problem, but instead being overlooked for matchday duties owing to an apparent buyout clause in his loan agreement, which would see Barca forced to pay up if the Austrian reaches a fixed number of games played for the club:
