Liverpool‘s bosses won’t show any loyalty to Jurgen Klopp if the club’s disappointing form continues into next season, Simon Jordan insisted on Wednesday.

The Reds’ slipped seven points adrift of the top four on Tuesday night after playing out a lacklustre 0-0 stalemate with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, marking their 16th league match without a win this season.

Having lifted the Premier League title in 2019-20 and pushed serial winners Manchester City to the final day in both 2018-19 and 2021-22, Klopp is experiencing an uncharacteristically poor campaign at Anfield, sitting eighth in the table and out of both the FA Cup and Champions League.

Anfield’s chiefs have so far kept faith in their 55-year-old boss, who boasts the longest-serving tenure of any manager in the English top flight, confident that the German will overturn Liverpool’s faltering form ahead of next season.

Premier League owners have been as ruthless as ever this season in terms of hiring and firing head coaches, with Leicester becoming the 12th top flight side to part company with their boss on Sunday in what has emerged a record-breaking season of managerial departures.

The Foxes’ 2-1 defeat against Crystal Palace called an end to Brendan Rodgers’ four-year spell at the King Power, and Chelsea lost patience in Graham Potter after a woeful season of results in west London.

Jordan believes strongly that Klopp could face the same fate at the start of next season, should Liverpool continue to falter in the Premier League.

‘I think if Klopp starts next season and gets to October with Liverpool in the same sort of position, he’ll be gone,’ Jordan urged on talkSPORT.

‘Everything comes to an end, he’s been there seven years. Eight years in October. He’ll have been there for a significant period of time and for the bulk of that time – certainly after years two and three – he’s done a remarkable job and produced a remarkable team.

‘But these tail-offs come post Premier League-winning seasons and post seasons where they’ve dominated football like last year.’

Reds stalwart Andrew Robertson attributed the disappointing season to Liverpool’s struggles on the road, insisting that his side must improve their away form quickly before thinking about challenging for trophies again.

‘A point at Stamford Bridge isn’t the one that will define our season,’ Robertson urged after Tuesday’s stalemate.

‘We’ve struggled away from home and if we could put our finger on it, we’d have fixed it by now.

‘From now till the end, we need to put that right and next season, we’re going to need to fix that if we want to be competing for anything, because you have to pick up points on the road and that’s where we’ve let ourselves down massively this year.’
