This is the shocking moment a man set a car alight before punching another man during a furious row.

The incident, which happened in Leicester, came after two men got into an argument in a nearby restaurant on March 8, locals claim.

The home CCTV footage shows two men walking towards the cars parked on the street. One of the vehicles apparently belonged to one of the men.

And the other man can be seen holding a jerry can and apparently throwing the liquid over the vehicle before setting it alight.

The man with the can then punches the alleged owner and the blow knocks him to the ground.

He then walks away from the scene briskly as the man lays on the floor and the car is engulfed in flames.

Following the shocking incident, police and firefighters were called to the scene.

No arrests have been made.

A spokesman for Leicestershire Police said: ‘We were called to Walton Street in Leicester shortly before 2pm on Wednesday (8 March) following a report that a car was alight.

‘It was established that the fire had been started deliberately.

‘While attending, officers identified and spoke to the car’s owner, who was not inside the vehicle at the time.’

They added: ‘Inquiries are continuing. No arrests have been made and anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to call 101, quoting incident 299 of 8 March.’
