Sergio Aguero on Chelsea’s watchlist while Barcelona have already made contact with him

Sergio Aguero hopes to stay in the Premier League next season, even if he leaves Manchester City.

The striker’s contract expires in June and no talks have been held over new terms.

Barcelona are believed to have made contact with Aguero regarding a potential free transfer.

But new Barca president Joan Laporta will have to compete for Aguero’s signature — with Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea understood to be monitoring developments with the 32-year-old.

Chelsea are long-term admirers of Aguero, and tried to sign him a decade ago when he swapped Atletico Madrid for City.

The Argentine, who is City’s record goalscorer, has struggled with injury and illness this season — making just five starts for Pep Guardiola in all competitions.

Aguero has expressed disappointment at his lack of opportunities since returning to fitness in January.
