Scott McTominay & Fred potential doubts for Man United’s Europa League final meeting with Villareal

Man United held by Fulham

Manchester United faced off with Fulham in their penultimate Premier League outing of the season on Tuesday evening

The tie was of little importance to either side, with their respective positions in the English top-flight having already been decided.

Fulham, a season after winning promotion, are set for a swift return to the Championship.

Man United, meanwhile, having already secured their spot in the top-four, and cannot catch Manchester City, who are Premier League champions for a 3rd time in five years.

Still, Man United will no doubt have been somewhat disappointed to fail to pick up a win over an already relegated side whilst back in front of an Old Trafford crowd.

Edinson Cavani would fire United into the lead with a stunning strike 15 minutes in.

However, the Manchester outfit did not capitalise on their early lead and were eventually made to pay when Joe Bryan secured a point for Fulham with a 76th minute equaliser.

McTominay & Fred doubts for final

As well as failing to pick up a win on Tuesday, United also look to have been dealt some personnel blows.

Scott McTominay was taken off after 62 minutes at Old Trafford whilst Fred also looked to be experiencing some discomfort.

And, when speaking post-match, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer did not seem overly optimistic about their pair’s fitness ahead of the Europa League final

“Unfortunately Scott had to come off and Fred doesn’t look great while he’s walking now, but we’ve got eight days.”
