SAPD: 1 dead after vehicle strikes utility pole on South Side
A San Antonio man was killed in a single-vehicle crash early on New Year’s Day, police said.
Officers were called to the intersection of Division Ave. and Pleasanton Road on the South Side for a crash around 2:55 a.m. Friday.
A vehicle traveling eastbound on Division struck a large utility pole on the sidewalk, police said. No other vehicles were involved in the collision.

The driver and only occupant of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. He has not been identified.
Traffic investigators processed the scene.
