San Antonio Spurs looking for 6 local, minority-owned restaurants to showcase menus at home games

SAN ANTONIO – Spurs Sports and Entertainment is searching for six local, minority-owned restaurants to highlight during home games in the upcoming season.

As part of the Spurs Culinary Residency program, the restaurants will collaborate with the Spurs and Aramark to sell dishes at a dedicated concession stand near the H-E-B Fan Zone.

Each restaurant will take turns serving dishes for up to nine home games during the 2023-24 season.

To apply, you can fill out an application here. The application period is open now and ends at 8 p.m. on Aug. 10.

“The Spurs Culinary Residency program celebrates diversity and inclusion, while spotlighting local and emerging talent that is at the heart and soul of San Antonio’s culinary landscape,” Kevin Barker, associate director of culinary experience for SS&E, said in a news release. “These restaurants are some of our community’s best hidden gems and we are proud to help foster their success while giving fans an opportunity to savor the unique tastes of our neighborhood businesses.”

During the last season, local restaurants The Beignet Stand, The Sweet Spot NBTX, Cakes by Felicia, Noodle Tree, Jamaica Jamaica, Singh’s Vietnamese and Kain Na Filipino Restaurant participated in the program.

The program also includes professional development opportunities led by Spurs Sports and Entertainment.
