San Antonio brasserie plans storefront updates in Southtown
Popular Southtown restaurant Maverick Texas Brasserie is going to look a little different.
Several renovations are planned for the restaurant’s front of house, according to a recent filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
The project calls for a “storefront replacement” new planters and banquette seating on an “existing concrete drive”, a new server station and host stand, according to the filing.
It’s not clear exactly what a “storefront replacement” will look like for Maverick. A spokesperson for the restaurant didn’t have more information to offer at this time.
Maverick Texas Brasserie opened in February 2018 backed by well-known restaurateur Peter Selig, who opened Biga on the Banks and Ácenar.
The brasserie, which is a type of laid back restaurant in France, features single-serving portions of dishes like quail and tender pork belly. It also has a long wine list to boot.
Last year, Maverick Texas Brasserie ownership filed a petition to stop its incoming neighbor, Rosario’s, from building a 20-foot wall only 6 feet from its patio. The Historic and Design Review Commission approved Rosario’s building designs despite the petition.
