San Antonio-based H-E-B celebrates opening of new store in Central Texas suburb

H-E-B continues to grow its San Antonio-based chain with the opening of a new store in the Austin area on Wednesday, November, 17. The new location in Leander, just outside the Austin city limits, spans more than 103,000 square feet, according to a news release from the company.

The store sits at 19348 Ronald W. Reagan Boulevard, in the new Bar West Marketplace. It features an expansive product assortment and several convenient services, like curbside and delivery and a pharmacy. According to the release, expanded departments will offer products such as dairy, H-E-B Organics, and other popular items.

To commemorate this new location, H-E-B also made several community gifts to local nonprofits, including a surprise announcement to gift a severely wounded veteran with a new, mortgage-free home.

Additionally, H-E-B gave a total of $30,000 in community gifts, which includes $7,500 each to Hill Country Community Ministries and Operation Liberty Hill, and $5,000 each to Leander Educational Excellence Foundations, Liberty Hill ISD Education Foundation, and Georgetown ISD Education Foundation.

This is the second store for Leadner, which also has an H-E-B plus! on Highway 183. The newest H-E-B at Ronald Reagan Boulevard will be open seven days a week from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.
