The San Antonio Police Department are investigating a shooting on the city’s Northwest Side that left a man hospitalized after being shot twice with an AK-47, according to authorities.

The shooting happened around 9:40 p.m. at the Berkshire RIM Apartments in the 5600 block of Worth Parkway, late Sunday night. According to the SAPD, the victim went to the apartments to go talk to his ex-girlfriend and was leaving the complex before the father of the ex-girlfriend’s child showed up and shot at the man at least six times with an AK-47, according to authorities.

The suspect immediately left the scene and has not been located by authorities as of yet. EMS were called to the complex where they transported the man in his 20’s to University Hospital. He’s currently in stable condition and is expected to recover, according to the SAPD.

The ex-girlfriend was questioned by authorities at the scene but was uncooperative, according to reports. A motive for the shooting is currently unknown at the time.

This is an ongoing investigation. MySA has contacted the San Antonio Police Department for further comment on the incident.
