Richard Sherman Discusses His Potential NFL Future

Richard Sherman‘s immediate NFL future won’t be on the football field.

Instead, he will be joining Amazon’s Thursday Night Football coverage on Prime Video.

He will be a fantastic addition to the squad because of his honest yet wise insights.

Dead air won’t be a problem for him because he won’t run out of things to say.

The five-time All-Pro will also put his Communications degree from Stanford to good use.

However, he isn’t closing the door on suiting up for another team.

He is still available to play, as long as a team is interested.

Pro Football Focus writer Ari Meirov tweeted, “While Sherman is taking a media gig, he is not retiring. ‘If somebody wants to call late December, I’m happy to help.’”

When that happens, will he abandon the Amazon role?

It’s a perfect opportunity for him to stay close to the game without the risk of injury.

Likewise, the game itself seems to be telling him that it’s already time to hang up his cleats.

In 2020, he played only five games for the San Francisco 49ers, finishing with 18 tackles and an interception.

A year later, he suited up for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, tallying 11 tackles and a pick.

Will Any Team Be Interested With Sherman?

For now, that would be difficult to say because teams have stockpiled their rosters through free agency and the NFL Draft.

But once injuries start to mount, he might have an opportunity to play for a team.

However, the market for him might not be big because he is not the same dominating player he once was.

Yet when a squad hits a critical situation in their secondary, Sherman still has gas left in his football tank.
