Revolution defender Brandon Bye injures Right ACL and will miss remainder of 2023 season

FOXBOROUGH, MA– New England Revolution defender Brandon Bye has suffered a Right ACL tear and will miss the remainder of the 2023 season.

During the Revolution’s 2-2 (8-7 in penalties) victory over Atlas FC, defender Brandon Bye down with a right knee injury following a challenge on Atlas FC midfielder #17 Jaziel Martinez. After the lunging challenge, Bye swiftly clutched his right knee and stayed on the ground for 3+ minutes. After the physio staff helped him up, he managed to walk off the pitch with the help of staff members.

He went straight to the locker room.

Later on, Bye was seen on the sidelines with crutches watching on as the Revolution came from behind to defeat Atlas FC and progress in the Leagues Cup.

He confirmed on August 5th that he would miss the rest of the season via instagram.

Bye stated, “Gutted that I will miss the remainder of the season. I love this team and I will miss being out there competing with these guys.”

Bye has played 12,470 minutes making 153 appearances (139 starts) for the New England Revolution since he was drafted by them, 8th overall in the 2018 MLS SuperDraft. In his career, he has tallied 9 goals and 17 assists on 113 total shots (32 on target). He has a career 45.17% headed duel win percentage, 54.55% duel win percentage, 166 career interceptions, and 72.52% pass accuracy. He has tallied 18 yellow cards and 1 red card.
