Report: Spurs sign Patty Mills to 4-year, $50 million deal

Point guard was a priority, and the Spurs have ensured that Patty Mills will remain in the fold

The San Antonio Spurs made a splash as soon as free agency opened on Saturday morning, re-signing point guard Patty Mills to a 4-year, $50 million deal.

With Tony Parker recovering from injury and Mills hitting the open market at the conclusion of last season, point guard was clearly a priority for the Spurs heading into the free agency period. The re-signing of Mills ensures that at the very least, the Spurs have a reliable option off the bench at the position, where Mills has excelled throughout his time in San Antonio.

Mills averaged 9.5 points and 3.5 assists on 44% shooting last season.
