Report: San Antonio not glitzy enough for top 10 glamorous U.S. cities

San Antonio is not catching a break with this recently released report that says the Alamo City just doesn’t have what it takes to land on the list of most glamorous U.S. cities. The list from LawnStarter only placed San Antonio in the top 50 at No. 34 for most glamorous cities, while two other Texas cities landed in the top 10.

The LawnStarter report is looking at which U.S. city is the ritziest in terms of wealth and glitzy accommodations for the rich and high profile.

The ranking is based on LawnStarter’s scoring system of various aspects of the cities, some of which San Antonio falls even lower than its overall glamorous ranking. The Alamo City is marked No. 40 for wealth and status, 31 for clubs, and 22 for fine dining. When it comes to “beauty,” San Antonio fell far below its overall ranking at No. 108.

The median household income for San Antonio was $54,923 in 2021, according to the Express-News. In 2021, 17% of San Antonio’s population was living below the poverty line.

While No. 34 isn’t as low as 200, San Antonio was beat out by another Texas city, Austin, which landed in the No. 16 spot with a beauty ranking of 128, lower than San Antonio. Dallas was the only Texas city to land among the top 10 at No. 9 with a beauty ranking of 58.

West Valley City, Utah was ranked as the least glamorous city in the U.S.
