Salah level Ronaldo at Old Trafford

Though neither Liverpool nor Manchester United are currently capable of keeping pace with Premier League leaders Manchester City as the new year approaches, 2021 was still an excellent calendar year for Reds superstar Mohamed Salah.

The Liverpool ace put one in the win column over the club’s biggest rivals during the current year after a revealed stat shows the Egyptian international has a goalscoring record at Old Trafford that is on level terms with none other than Red Devils icon Cristiano Ronaldo.

Mohamed Salah has remained one of the most feared goalscorers both in the Premier League and on the continent in recent years, but the return of Ronaldo to Old Trafford was meant to gift the Red Devil’s another goalscorer capable of competing with Salah for the golden boot alongside the likes of Jamie Vardy and Harry Kane.

But The Egyptian star has found it equally as easy to score at the Theatre of Dreams as Ronaldo has this season, with both superstar strikers sitting on six goals at the world-famous ground during the entire of 2021 despite Salah featuring in just a handful of fixtures in front of United’s home support.

A season to remember for Liverpool star

As 2021 comes to a close, the current 2021-22 season is one for the photo album for Mohamed Salah as the Liverpool star has unquestionably become one of the best-attacking players in world football.

Still just 29-years-old and with some of his best years still to come, Salah is currently sitting on 15-goals in the league this term with only but a handful of forwards ahead of him across Europe’s top-five leagues.

But his ability to put it on a plate for Diogo Jota, Sadio Mané, and others in Jürgen Klopp’s ranks has him ahead of almost all of his current contemporaries on the back of his 9-assists; bested by only Bayern Munich’s Thomas Müller (13).

The icing on the cake would be Liverpool outpacing the freight train that is Manchester City which has continued to pick up speed at the top of the domestic table, while also pushing Egypt to their 8th African Cup of Nations win (their 7 is the most in history) and first since 2010. But no matter what silverware falls his way come the end of the season, Mohamed Salah has come a long way from a failed stint at Chelsea.
